Feel it to Heal it- Learning to get in touch with your body

One of the big pieces of this healing program is What I call “feel it to heal it”- It is a process of openly feeling and accepting what our bodies are giving us- in terms of sensations, symptoms, and emotions. These are all feelings that we typically try to avoid feeling, or react negatively to when we feel them. The process of getting in touch with the body’s feelings and sensations is called interoception. There has been research showing people with chronic pain and other chronic ailments have a more difficult time observing and feeling their body’s feelings (symptoms and emotions). The good news is when we can get in touch and openly feel and accept what feelings the body is giving us, we have the capacity to heal.
