ACE scores associated with Mental Health (which leads to) Physical Health Issues
So many studies have come out and are continuing to come out around the impact of ACE (adverse childhood experiences) scores and subsequent mental, emotional, and physical health issues later in life. The brain gets affected at a young age and this particular study looked at data from many studies. Data from 43 studies with over 14 million people found that ACE scores contributed to a 66% increased risk of anxiety and or depression later in life. We know anxiety and depression are highly linked with chronic somatic symptoms. In today’s evidence of the week video I go over the data from this study and how important it is to address the psychosocial factors like anxiety and depression when dealing with chronic somatic symptoms.
