Your Autonomic Nervous System Plays a Role in Chronic Pain
Today I go over a study that looked at the role of the autonomic nervous system (ANS) in chronic pain. There are definite links between alterations and dysregulation in the ANS and people with chronic. In fact, the researchers sifted through over 17,000 studies on heart rate variability (HRV), which is a measure of your ANS, and after looking at the best data, they concluded:
“results from the meta-analyses reflected a consistent, moderate-to-large effect of decreased high-frequency HRV in chronic pain, implicating a decrease in parasympathetic activation.”
Learn more about what this means in the video below and also some ways you can start increase parasympathetic activity in your ANS to help with healing.
